Description
The Emerging Voices Award, established by the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) with support from the 455 Foundation, is designed to foster and recognize diverse and underrepresented voices in American children’s literature. Since 2012, the award has promoted greater representation in the field by providing winners with professional development, industry exposure, and meaningful opportunities to advance their careers. Each year, two writers or writer-illustrators are selected for this honor.
