--- ## Description The Emmy Noether Lectures, established by the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) in 1980 and now co-sponsored with the American Mathematical Society, recognize women who have made fundamental and sustained contributions to the mathematical sciences. Each year, a recipient is selected to deliver a one-hour expository lecture at the Joint Mathematics Meetings in January. The program is named in honor of Emmy Noether, a pioneering mathematician whose work remains highly influential.
