The Emmy Noether Lectures recognize and celebrate women who have made fundamental and sustained contributions to the mathematical sciences. Established in 1980 by the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) and jointly sponsored with the American Mathematical Society (AMS) since 2015, the award consists of an annual, one-hour expository lecture delivered at the Joint Mathematics Meetings each January. In addition to the honor of presenting the lecture, recipients receive a $1,000 prize, a certificate, and are featured in the AWM Newsletter. The award aims to inspire future generations by highlighting the achievements of women in mathematics.
