Description
The German Research Foundation (DFG) Emmy Noether Programme supports excellent research projects led by exceptionally qualified early career researchers in all disciplines. By leading an independent junior research group and undertaking relevant teaching duties, researchers can gain the qualifications required for appointment as university professors. The programme also aims to attract outstanding researchers to Germany from abroad, including those returning to Germany.
Funding supports six years of independent group leadership, with staff and direct project funding needed to conduct the research. Additional modules support clinical substitutes, international research collaboration, workshops, science communication, family allowances, and equity and diversity measures. The programme targets postdoctoral researchers and junior professors with temporary contracts who are still at an early stage of their research careers.
