Description
The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) runs the eMobility Rolling Grant Program to expand zero-emission, shared-use transportation in disadvantaged New Jersey communities. Eligible approaches include carshare, carpool and vanpool services, eMobility hubs, fixed-route shuttles, microtransit, and ride-hailing or on-demand rides. Funding can support electric vehicles, charging stations, program development and operation, and property or site modifications for vehicles and charging equipment.
The program aims to improve access to jobs, education, healthcare, and needs identified by communities while reducing greenhouse gases and other transportation pollutants. Projects should demonstrate meaningful community engagement. NJDEP prioritizes projects ready to proceed and considers community benefit, scalability, and fit with available funding sources.
