Description
Cornell University invites proposals for allocations on Empire AI, a shared computing resource supported by New York State and philanthropy. Empire AI brings together Cornell and eight other New York State institutions. The call is for research projects that need substantial GPU computing capacity and associated data-processing resources, rather than projects in a prescribed research field.
The previous call offered access to the expanded Alpha system, with 144 H100 GPUs, and the Beta system, described as having 288 B200 GPUs, networking interconnects, and additional Grace CPU nodes. Demand was expected to exceed Cornell’s share of Empire AI capacity until a further expansion in 2027.
