Description
The Empowering Equality at the LGBTQ Fund, managed by the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham, is dedicated to supporting organizations and initiatives that foster a welcoming and affirming environment for LGBTQ individuals and families in Central Alabama. The fund enhances the capacity of organizations led by or serving LGBTQ people, with a focus on Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, Blount, and Walker counties. Grants support services for LGBTQ youth, individuals, and families, educational initiatives, collaborative efforts between LGBTQ and mainstream organizations, and public policy or social justice work addressing the unique needs of the LGBTQ community.
