Description
The Alabama Power Foundation’s Power to Play Grants help Alabama schools, organizations, and educators expand extracurricular opportunities for K–12 students. The program funds athletics, arts, and music through a single application cycle, with the goal of removing barriers that prevent students from participating. It reflects the foundation’s view that communities are stronger when students succeed and that extracurricular involvement supports classroom performance and high school graduation.
Funding can establish new programs or expand participation in existing ones. Athletics projects may add sports or teams, while arts and music projects may provide supplies, instruments, equipment, uniforms, and other opportunities for students. Priority goes to Title I public schools and schools where at least 50% of students receive free or reduced meals.
