Description
The Alabama Power Foundation’s Scholar Grants support educators working together to raise student achievement in math and/or English language arts to grade-level proficiency and beyond. The program funds teacher-selected professional development, instructional resources, and classroom technology for teams in grades 2 through 8. It emphasizes collaboration, professional growth, and peer support, recognizing that teachers learning together can help their students grow.
Proposals should connect professional learning with resources and technology that increase student engagement, scaffold instruction, and improve learning. Teams must explain how these elements work together and how improvements in student achievement will be measured. Priority goes to Title I schools, schools where at least half of full-time students receive free or reduced meals, and schools serving students in Alabama Power’s service territory.
