    Description

The Emslie Horniman Anthropological Scholarship Fund, administered by the Royal Anthropological Institute (RAI), encourages postgraduates to undertake fieldwork and develop their careers as anthropologists and archaeologists. Awards support researchers with the potential to become outstanding practitioners whose projects will contribute to anthropology or archaeology. Grants normally support research contributing to an MPhil or PhD, with preference given to fieldwork outside the United Kingdom.

The Trustees make awards annually and place particular importance on accounts of the supported fieldwork and research findings. Award holders submit interim and final reports so that the Trustees can assess the work against approved plans. Final reports are published on the RAI website, making the findings available beyond the award holders.
