Description
The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) administers this mini-grant through its Ending the HIV Epidemic program and Infectious Disease Branch. It supports organizations and entities trusted by residents to deliver HIV-related public health assistance directly within Arkansas communities. Projects focus on retention in care, viral suppression, transmission prevention, and access to statewide HIV resources.
Supported work includes structured HIV empowerment groups addressing emotional well-being and behavioral health, community forums gathering direct feedback from people with HIV, and other services or capacity building for people living with HIV/AIDS. Projects must select one primary focus area and identify the EHE goals they address: increasing awareness of HIV status, accelerating linkage from screening to treatment, improving service accessibility and quality, or reducing barriers through evidence-based and community-informed strategies. Screening integrates HIV and other infectious diseases through a syndemic approach.
