Description
Mayo Clinic’s two-year Endourology Fellowship at its Phoenix, Arizona, campus combines advanced clinical training with research and education. Sponsored by the Endourology Society, the program develops proficiency in endourology and minimally invasive surgery through one-on-one surgical mentoring and a didactic curriculum of conferences, lectures, and courses. Clinical emphasis includes metabolic stone disease, advanced laparoscopy and robotics, and holmium laser enucleation of the prostate.
Research training includes basic science, clinical, and outcomes-based projects. Fellows can pursue their own research initiatives, and the program can generally be structured to emphasize individual interests. Research resources include bench space, a surgical innovation laboratory, a large surgical database, and experienced mentors. The fellowship also provides opportunities to teach residents and medical students.
