The Wyoming Energy Authority administers Energy Matching Funds on behalf of the Governor. The program supports research, demonstration, pilot, and commercial deployment projects intended to advance Wyoming’s energy industries and meet energy needs while addressing sustainability without undermining reliability or affordability.
Eligible work spans coal, oil and gas; carbon capture, utilization and storage; carbon dioxide transportation; hydrogen production, transportation and storage; critical minerals and lithium processing; biomass and biochar; hydropower; battery storage; and wind and solar energy. Projects are assessed for their potential to advance research or progress toward commercial-scale deployment, deliver a public benefit to Wyoming, and achieve defined objectives.
