Summary: Supports projects that build capacity and skills for patients, caregivers, and researchers to engage in patient-centered comparative clinical effectiveness research.
Key Information: This award does not fund research studies; it is for capacity building and engagement only.
This opportunity supports projects that advance the capacity and skills of patients, families, caregivers, and the broader healthcare community—as well as researchers—to engage as partners in patient-centered comparative clinical effectiveness research (CER). The program is specifically designed to empower those who are not traditionally researchers to participate meaningfully in future research and to help researchers strengthen their ability to collaborate with these stakeholders. Previous recipients of Engagement Awards may also apply to expand the reach and impact of their capacity-building work. Research studies themselves are not funded through this mechanism; the focus is on engagement and capacity building.
