Description
The ECASU Community Awareness Partnerships (ECASU-CP) are administered by Delaware’s Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (DSAMH) through the federally funded State Opioid Response initiative. The program helps community organizations, local leaders, and healthcare providers engage Delaware communities affected by opioid and stimulant use disorders (OUD/STUD). It is designed for partners seeking hands-on assistance with communications, education, and awareness initiatives, including those unable to contract directly with DSAMH.
Partners work with a Campaign Planner and technical assistance vendors to develop and implement customized activities. These may include community events, educational presentations, listening sessions, social media campaigns, videos, speakers’ bureaus, pledge drives, grassroots mobilization, and media outreach. Priorities include reducing stigma, improving awareness of treatment and recovery services, reducing stigma toward methadone and buprenorphine, promoting naloxone access, and increasing knowledge of local resources.
