Description
This opportunity from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) Directorate for Engineering supports foundational research projects in civil, mechanical, and manufacturing innovation. The solicitation encompasses four major programs:
- Advanced Manufacturing, Design, and Operations (AMDO): Foundational research on advanced manufacturing, materials, service processes, and their integration into systems and supply chains.
- Engineering for the Built Environment (EBE): Research on civil infrastructure and systems, from materials to network sciences, aiming to create resilient and safe communities.
- Intelligent and Interactive Dynamic Systems (IIDS): Research advancing the science and engineering of intelligent dynamic systems, including those interacting with people.
- Mechanics of Advanced Materials Systems (MAMS): Research on deformation and failure in engineered and biological materials.
NSF encourages intellectually ambitious and potentially transformative research, including both incremental and high-risk projects.
