Faculty are now limited to two Enhanced Travel awards per academic/fiscal year. Applications will generally be reviewed in the month after receipt, rather than under the previous monthly schedule without that cutoff; decisions by the second Thursday are now a goal rather than a firm commitment.

Description
Enhanced Travel is an internal funding program administered by the Office for Advancement of Research (OAR) at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. It supports major travel opportunities with the potential to significantly influence a faculty scholar’s professional trajectory, rather than routine participation in the general round of academic conferences in their discipline.
Supported opportunities include personally invited talks, special workshops or trainings, and keynote addresses at major conferences. The emphasis is on the significance of the particular invitation or activity for the scholar’s professional development. Applicants must explain what distinguishes the opportunity from ordinary conference participation and why departmental travel funding cannot cover it.
