Description
This Horizon Europe Innovation Action supports the development, testing, and demonstration of innovative ecodesign solutions for consumer electronics. The focus is on enhancing durability, reusability, reparability, disassembly, recyclability, and the use of recycled content in electronics. Projects should address key challenges such as low recovery rates of critical raw materials, limited reparability, and the environmental impact of electronic waste. Mechanisms and incentives to reward circular design and product durability—such as extended guarantees or new business models (e.g., leasing, product-service systems)—are encouraged.
Solutions must comply with chemical safety principles and relevant EU legislation, with environmental performance evaluated from a lifecycle perspective. Projects should center the consumer perspective and integrate expertise from the social sciences and humanities (SSH) to maximize societal impact. The call supports the European Green Deal, the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation, and other related EU initiatives.
