Description
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) administers Environmental Education Grants to improve environmental literacy among youth and adults across Pennsylvania. The 2027 round supports innovative formal and non-formal education, including meaningful, hands-on student programs, teacher training workshops, and community conservation projects for adults. Projects should expand public understanding of Pennsylvania’s environmental issues and develop skills for informed decisions and responsible action.
Projects must address land use, air quality, water, and/or climate change. Relevant work includes education about contamination and brownfield redevelopment, air pollution and health, watershed pollution, and practical climate resilience solutions. Environmental justice engagement is also emphasized: programs should reflect local needs, incorporate community input and support, and build relationships with trusted local organizations or leaders.
