    EPS Carers Fund

EPS Carers Fund supports Experimental Psychology Society members with extra care costs while attending meetings and funded workshops, reducing barriers to participation in research events.

    Funder: Experimental Psychology Society

Due Dates: At least 4 weeks before the meeting (Application) | Within 4 weeks after the meeting (Claim)

Funding Amounts: Claims up to £250; normally no more than £250 per member per calendar year

Summary: Supports EPS members with additional caring costs incurred while attending EPS meetings or EPS-funded workshops.

Key Information: Only EPS Ordinary and Postgraduate members are eligible; funding covers additional care, not existing care arrangements.

    Description

The Experimental Psychology Society’s Carers Fund helps members attend EPS meetings and EPS-funded workshops when caring responsibilities would otherwise prevent participation. It contributes towards the extra costs of care needed while a member is away, recognising responsibilities for children, elderly or disabled relatives, or friends. The aim is to reduce a barrier to attendance and contribution to research meetings.

Support is not limited to childcare. It can cover additional childcare or assistance with travel when a dependent needs to accompany the member. The fund accommodates varied caring arrangements, but supports only costs arising because of attendance—not care that would be provided regardless of the event. Members do not have to present at the meeting, although applications enabling presentations may receive priority.
