Description
Run by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), this responsive-mode opportunity supports researchers taking ICT expertise into another discipline or bringing expertise from another field into ICT. It aims to open cross-disciplinary research areas, answer specific research questions, explore collaborative projects’ feasibility, and develop techniques, tools or methods researchers can apply to their own work. Projects may involve any field relevant to UKRI’s remit, but must hop into or from an ICT research area covered by the opportunity.
The programme supports immersion in another discipline through a different department, research institution or company, in the UK or abroad, or through longer-term training and reskilling. It also supports commercialisation, knowledge exchange and activities that broaden the discipline hop’s impact and strengthen collaboration between ICT and other fields.
