Description
The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), part of UK Research and Innovation, runs this opportunity to strengthen UK scientific capability and enable cutting-edge research aligned with EPSRC and national priorities. Proposed infrastructure must be strategically important to its host institution and support research predominantly within EPSRC’s remit. It should serve multiple users rather than a single research project.
Route one supports the purchase and set-up of equipment or computing hardware, together with justified resources needed to make it useful. The infrastructure may create new capability, increase capacity or deliver faster, higher-resolution or more cost-effective results. Route two supports invited proposals to increase use of existing infrastructure—for example, through staff support, training, research services or improved access and sharing.
