    Description

The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Equipment Grants support purchases of solid waste management equipment, typically as one-time investments. Examples include brush chippers, recycling equipment such as balers, trailers, household hazardous waste facility equipment, and composting equipment. Eligible equipment is tangible, non-expendable property with a useful life exceeding one year and an acquisition cost between $5,000 and $50,000 per unit.

The program sits within DEQ’s responsibility to prevent, control, and abate solid waste pollution that threatens human health or the environment. Applications must explain how the equipment will improve waste management and provide environmental benefits, such as waste reduction, resource conservation, pollution prevention, or litter abatement. Storage and maintenance plans are required.
