Description
Equity in Arts Learning for Colorado Youth supports projects that bring professional artists and culture bearers into educational settings to work with historically marginalized youth ages 4–21. The initiative seeks to dismantle systemic barriers to arts learning, demonstrate the value of arts education, and encourage ongoing community support. Colorado Creative Industries, Bonfils-Stanton Foundation, and Denver Arts and Venues partnered with Think 360 Arts to create the fund; Think 360 Arts manages applications.
Projects may involve theater, dance, music, visual arts, media arts, literary arts, folk and traditional arts, or interdisciplinary forms. Arts integration connecting an art form with another subject is encouraged. Programming should build sustained learning and relationships, center youth identities and needs, and address clear gaps in schools or communities.
