ERA Research Managers is a European Commission Horizon Europe Coordination and Support Action under Widening Participation and Strengthening the European Research Area. It attracts experienced research managers to universities, research organisations and research infrastructures in Widening countries, establishing or upgrading institutional research management capacity. The initiative supports international mobility, institutional reform and stronger integration within the European Research Area.
Projects combine recruitment with capacity building and targeted training to improve grant acquisition, resource allocation, strategic planning, collaboration and compliance with funding regulations. The manager leads a research management group designed to continue beyond Horizon Europe funding. Priorities include ethics, open science and data, gender equality, better communication of research and innovation results, and greater institutional visibility and competitiveness in research funding.
