The Ernst and Gertrude Ticho Memorial Award and Lecture supports an early-career psychoanalyst through an award and original-paper presentation to encourage contributions to psychoanalytic practice and scholarship.

Description
The American Psychoanalytic Association’s Ernst and Gertrude Ticho Memorial Award and Lecture recognizes and fosters the work of a promising early-career psychoanalyst. It honors contributions through teaching, writing, research, and applied and/or clinical work, with the goal of encouraging further contributions to psychoanalytic practice, science, and scholarship. The lecture was inaugurated in June 2006 with support from the Ernst and Gertrude Ticho Charitable Foundation.
The recipient receives an honorarium, travel reimbursement, and hotel support, alongside the opportunity to present an original paper at APsA’s 2028 National Meeting. The winner may choose the paper’s topic. This lecture gives the recipient an opportunity to share their work with the psychoanalytic community.
