    Description

The European Space Agency’s Business Applications and Space Solutions (BASS) programme supports commercially viable, space-enabled services through this non-competitive call. One of three sub-calls under the Arctic Region initiative, it addresses security, resilience and critical infrastructure protection as climate change, increased maritime activity and strategic competition create new operational risks.

Projects should help authorities and operators monitor and protect ports, energy assets, communication networks, transport corridors and other remote infrastructure. Priorities include maritime domain awareness, detection of suspicious or unlawful activity, resilient communications, emergency preparedness and cross-border information sharing. Solutions can draw on satellite Earth observation for monitoring and risk detection, satellite communications for resilient connectivity, and satellite navigation for trusted positioning, tracking and incident response.
