    Description

The European Society of Biomechanics (ESB) Congress Participation Inclusion Fund provides practical financial support to members facing additional costs of attending the society’s congress. It addresses barriers arising from individual needs, including care of dependents, disability, and medical needs, when those costs cannot be covered by the member’s home institution. The fund supports participation rather than research directly.

Support is flexible and can cover any legitimate purpose that addresses a clearly identified attendance barrier. Examples include transporting medical equipment, facilitating access for people with hearing impairments, care outside usual arrangements, and travel or accommodation for a secondary carer. The diversity, inclusion and membership committee assesses the benefit of attending the congress and how the contribution makes participation possible, independently of scientific excellence or abstract review scores.
