Description
The European Society of Cardiology’s First Contact Initiative Grant promotes careers in basic cardiovascular sciences by supporting new research links between young scientists working at European institutions and host institutions in another country. Hosts may be within or outside Europe. The grant provides resources for travel and a visit lasting at least ten calendar days.
Visits must address one of two aims: establishing lasting contacts that could lead to a fellowship or research affiliate position in the host laboratory, supporting a basic cardiovascular science research project; or acquiring new skills that benefit the researcher’s future career and can be transferred to their home institution. The programme connects initial international exchanges with opportunities for sustained research collaboration and professional development.
