Key Information: The Head of the Host Laboratory/Department must be an ESCV member.
The European Society for Clinical Virology (ESCV) provides a limited number of training fellowships for researchers to visit centres for clinical or diagnostic virology in Europe. The programme supports learning special or new techniques that will be valuable in recipients’ future clinical or laboratory work. Proposed training must relate to clinical or diagnostic virology, and applicants are expected to return to their current biomedical institution after the traineeship.
The fellowships are funded through the Society’s reserves and contributions collected specifically from commercial sponsors. Support favours travel or expenses that complement a regular income from the applicant’s employer, rather than laboratory bench fees. The total funding available each year is approved at the preceding year’s Annual General Meeting.
