The European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology (ESPE) Research Fellowship supports talented early-career scientists, investigators and paediatric endocrinologists intending to pursue careers in paediatric endocrinology. It provides up to two years of research training at a centre of excellence, including support for living expenses, travel and laboratory consumables. The fellowship may be held in the applicant’s current department or another institution with relevant expertise.
The programme supports high-quality research across paediatric endocrinology, excluding diabetes and obesity projects. Selection emphasises the research hypothesis, methodology and experimental design, publication potential, feasibility, and benefits to the fellow and home institution. Convened by Professor Svetlana Lajic, the fellowship succeeds the Nordisk Grant for the Study of Growth, established in 1978. Previously supported by Novo Nordisk Health Care AG, it will be sponsored by ESPE for 2026.
