Funder: European Sleep Research Society
Due Dates (Anticipated): January 2027 (Application deadline)
Funding Amounts: Up to €1,400 for a two-week training visit
Summary: Supports sleep researchers and practitioners learning a skill abroad that is unavailable at home and transferable to their home institution.
Key Information: Applicants must be ESRS members and have a host institution agreement before applying.
The European Sleep Research Society (ESRS) offers this grant to support training visits for people pursuing careers in sleep research or sleep medicine, with preference given to those in the early stages of their careers. Recipients spend two weeks at an experienced laboratory in the ESRS Network of Sleep Research Laboratories, located in a European country other than their own.
The visit must focus on a skill or procedure unavailable at the applicant’s home institution. The programme emphasises transferring that learning back home: recipients must return to apply their newly acquired research skills or continue developing their research. Applicants identify a suitable host supervisor and develop clear learning objectives, explaining how the training will benefit their career and home institution.
