    Description

The European Society for Sexual Medicine (ESSM) Research Grants support research into any aspect of sexual medicine, with a focus on novel pre-clinical or clinical projects. The programme seeks ambitious, ground-breaking work addressing unmet medical needs and opening new research areas. It particularly welcomes projects considered high risk and therefore unlikely to attract funding from conventional sources.

ESSM aims to advance understanding of human sexual physiology and psychology, translate fundamental findings into clinical use, and develop medicines, technologies and methods for treating sexual dysfunction and improving sexual health. The ESSM Grant Subcommittee administers the programme, with awards decided by the Executive Committee following independent external review. Scientific soundness, appropriate methods, feasibility and the potential to change patients’ lives are central priorities.
