The European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO) Educational Grants programme supports young ESSO members who wish to visit a specialised institution abroad for further training in surgical oncology. The programme is intended for surgeons who have completed their surgical training and declare an intention to specialise in a surgical oncology sub-specialty. Visits centre on specific objectives and planned activities connected to the applicant’s oncology background and plans after the fellowship.
Training opportunities include breast surgery, PSM and sarcoma, for which applicants must choose an ESSO Referral Centre. Applicants pursuing other specialties may choose their host institution freely, subject to the programme’s cross-border requirements. Supported visitors also share their experience with the wider ESSO community through a complete report for the ESSO Newsletter and social media.
