    Description

The International Career Development Exchange Programme is a joint educational initiative of the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO) and the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO). It supports one emerging, early-career ESSO surgical oncologist with leadership potential through one-on-one mentoring with a distinguished senior SSO member, attendance at the SSO Annual Meeting, and a one-week clinical observership at the mentor’s US institution.

The programme aims to establish a professional relationship that continues throughout the participant’s career. It also emphasizes applying and sharing the knowledge gained to benefit the participant’s work and oncology in their home country or region. Applicants describe specific learning objectives and plans for dissemination through lectures, meetings, or other activities after returning home.
