    Description

The Y-ESSO Research Grants, run by the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO), support young surgeons developing a research project in surgical oncology. The programme links research with a fellowship or training visit at a host institution outside the applicant’s current country. It is intended to fund a defined part of the proposed work, rather than the entire research project.

Applicants describe their oncology background, specific objectives, plans after the fellowship, and how the grant will contribute to their project. Visits may involve European or non-European institutions, depending on the applicant’s location. The programme also shares fellows’ experiences through reports made available for the ESSO Newsletter and social media.
