Description
The European Society for Translation Studies (EST) offers this grant to help scholars with limited or no financial support attend Translation Studies conferences and training events. It funds participation rather than a separate research project. Conference-like events are eligible, as are training workshops when comparable training is unavailable locally or unaffordable locally. Summer and winter schools, software training, and access to academic papers or other publications are excluded.
The program prioritizes the contribution of attendance to research development, including opportunities for useful feedback, networking, and training. Applicants must explain how the event relates to their research to date and current research plans. The Conference and Training Grant Committee assesses complete, eligible applications using ordered decision criteria, with final decisions ratified by the EST board.
