The European Society for Translation Studies (EST) awards its Translation Prize every second year to support the most deserving project translating key texts in Translation Studies, including research on interpreting and localization. Administered by the Translation Prize Committee, the prize assists with the translation, editing, and/or publication of a book or group of articles in any sub-field of the discipline. Its purpose is to promote translations that would otherwise not lead to publication.
Projects may translate from any language into any language. Potential impact includes bringing research from minority languages or languages of lesser diffusion to an international readership, or translating major-language texts to strengthen research and teaching within another language community. Assessment also considers project feasibility and the translators’ pertinent experience.
