    Description

NASA’s Office of STEM Engagement administers EPSCoR Basic Research to strengthen research capabilities in jurisdictions that have not historically participated in competitive aerospace research. The program provides seed funding for scientific and technical research aligned with NASA’s strategic research and technology development priorities, Mission Directorates, and Centers. It aims to build long-term, self-sustaining, nationally competitive aerospace and aerospace-related research capabilities.

Projects should strengthen higher education research infrastructure, foster partnerships among NASA, academia, and industry, and contribute to jurisdictional workforce and economic development. Funded researchers must work closely with a NASA researcher. Proposals must also describe practical plans to become competitive for support outside NASA EPSCoR, including funding from NASA, industry, other federal agencies, and other sources.
