It covers any aspect of folklore studies, broadly defined, at universities or higher education institutions in the United Kingdom. Students may apply at any point in their research career.
The bursary helps meet practical project costs, including research materials and equipment, travel to fieldwork locations within or outside the UK, and maintenance during field research. The Society’s Post-Graduate Bursary Committee may consider other research needs at its discretion, including conference attendance where the applicant will present a paper on their research. Funding is not provided for tuition, registration or matriculation fees.
