Description
The European Union–Hong Kong Research Cooperation Co-funding Mechanism is run by the Hong Kong Research Grants Council (RGC). It supports research teams from University Grants Committee-funded universities in Hong Kong participating in joint projects under Horizon Europe. The aim is to strengthen collaboration between European and Hong Kong research communities in areas of mutual interest and achieve world-class scientific results.
The scheme considers research projects of high academic merit in food, agriculture, biosolutions linked to the agri-food sector, climate change, and biodiversity, alongside exchange and mobility proposals. Proposals should identify a clear joint working relationship and demonstrate the added value of collaboration. Assessment considers complementary strengths, opportunities to train young researchers, team credentials, and impact on Hong Kong.
