Due Dates: July 6, 2026: Full application submission deadline to RGC through university Research Offices (by 17:00 Hong Kong time) | August 3, 2026: Deadline to provide essential updates and all necessary ethics/safety approvals to the RGC
Funding Amounts: Up to HK$3 million per research project or HK$0.5 million per exchange (mobility) proposal; project duration up to 5 years or duration of Horizon Europe project, whichever is shorter.

Description
This mechanism is designed to foster collaboration between research teams in Hong Kong (from University Grants Committee-funded universities) and Europe through joint projects under the Horizon Europe framework. It supports both research and exchange (mobility) proposals in areas such as food, agriculture, biosolutions related to the agri-food sector, climate change, and biodiversity. The scheme aims to leverage complementary strengths and enable world-class scientific outcomes, with a strong emphasis on training young researchers and impactful, collaborative research.
