    Description

The Max Weber Programme for Postdoctoral Studies at the European University Institute (EUI) supports residential research in the historical, humanities, and social sciences at Badia Fiesolana, Italy. Fellows join Economics, History, Law, Political and Social Sciences, the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, or the Florence School of Transnational Governance. A typical cohort includes around 65 fellows across these academic units.

The programme combines disciplinary and multidisciplinary research with preparation for an academic career. Fellows receive training in publishing, presenting, teaching, and applying for research grants and jobs, with particular attention to communicating effectively in English. They also have access to the EUI library, shared working space, and research support. Preference is given to researchers who have recently completed their doctorate and have not previously held a postdoctoral fellowship.
