Quantum-Testing Infrastructure for Quantum Technologies supports SMEs, start-ups, and researchers with open-access testing and certification infrastructure to improve quantum products’ reliability and time to market.
Funder: EuroHPC Joint Undertaking
Due Dates: November 17, 2026 (Application deadline)
Funding Amounts: €19 million–€20 million EU contribution per project; €20 million total topic budget; one grant expected
Summary: Supports a pan-European open-access infrastructure for testing, validating, and certifying quantum components and systems.
Key Information: Participation is restricted to legal entities in EU Member States or EuroHPC JU Participating States, with ownership-control safeguards.
EuroHPC Joint Undertaking funds this Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Action to establish a distributed, open-access testing and experimentation infrastructure for quantum technologies. The proposal should implement the testing-related part of the Qu-Test Framework Partnership Agreement action plan, expanding and connecting facilities across multiple Member States. Coverage includes quantum processors, sensors, photonics, and control systems, with metrological and validation capabilities integrated into existing research and technology organisations and academic infrastructures.
The infrastructure will support SMEs, start-ups, and research institutions through interoperable testing methods, benchmarking, and certification services. A digital platform will enable test planning, remote execution, and data reporting. Industry engagement and feedback between testing, design, and manufacturing should guide access models and iterative improvements. Coordination with European and international standardisation initiatives should improve quality, reliability, reproducibility, and interoperability while accelerating quantum products’ time to market.
