    Due Dates: November 4, 2026 (Opening) | January 20, 2027 (Application deadline)

Funding Amounts: Up to EUR 1,000,000 for a maximum of 24 months

Summary: Institutional twinning to strengthen Bank Al-Maghrib’s payment systems security, operational resilience, and fraud prevention capacities in Morocco.

Key Information: Bank Al-Maghrib seeks one or more EU Member State central banks as institutional twinning partners.

    Description

This European Commission call supports institutional twinning between Bank Al-Maghrib and one or more central banks from EU Member States. Funded through the EU’s Programme Supporting Financial Inclusion in Morocco, it benefits Bank Al-Maghrib’s Direction Systèmes et Moyens de Paiement in Rabat. The project aims to modernize Morocco’s payments market, strengthen confidence in electronic payments, and advance financial inclusion while reducing cash use.

The work combines two components: strengthening payment security and operational resilience, and developing an integrated approach to payment fraud prevention, monitoring, and response. Activities include peer exchanges, technical workshops, training, risk assessment methodologies, pilot testing, and knowledge transfer. European practices will be adapted to Morocco’s context, building on a planned national study of payment fraud.
