Key Information: Programmes must operate in at least four EU Member States or Associated Countries, including one with absent or less-developed comprehensive cancer infrastructure.
This Horizon Europe Innovation Action supports the European Commission’s EU Cancer Mission through clinical research by comprehensive cancer infrastructures. It focuses on evidence-based, tailored, innovative, affordable and accessible diagnosis and treatment for lung, bowel, breast or prostate cancer, including any age group or cancer subtype. Research can address innovative diagnostics, radiotherapy, surgery, chemotherapy, therapeutic cancer vaccines or implementation of clinical practice guidelines where comprehensive cancer infrastructures are absent or limited.
The topic aims to reduce inequalities in clinical research capacity and access to care by extensively piloting and scaling programmes across countries. Programmes should be co-designed with patients and caregivers or families, reflecting local healthcare needs, cultural diversity and available resources. Results should equip healthcare providers, payers and policymakers with evidence for piloting, scaling or implementing appropriate programmes.
