Summary: Supports a sustainable operational model and blueprint for a Data Lab for Science connecting EOSC and RAISE to accelerate AI uptake in science.
Key Information: Funded beneficiaries generally must be established in EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries.
The European Commission’s Horizon Europe AI in Science call funds a Coordination and Support Action to develop a sustainable operational model and reference blueprint for a Data Lab for Science. Linking the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) with the Resource for AI Science in Europe (RAISE), the action aims to improve researchers’ access to AI-ready data and high-quality services for developing and training scientific AI models.
The work should consolidate existing EOSC-related tools, services and community-endorsed solutions rather than duplicate them. Priorities include integration with European data and high-performance computing infrastructures, interoperable workflows across disciplines and countries, and overcoming barriers to data sharing, reuse and pooling. Demonstration use cases, long-term governance and financing models, and recommendations addressing unmet scientific data-service needs are central outputs.
