    Description

The European Commission funds this Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Action under the Research Infrastructures programme. It supports large-scale pilots and demonstrators that use Destination Earth to address climate adaptation and risk mitigation in real-life settings. Projects should improve and couple models across sectors, including health, energy, agri-food and mobility, to test responses to interconnected climate challenges.

The topic prioritises AI-enabled digital twins and stronger data infrastructure, connecting AI Factories’ Data Labs with Destination Earth and Common European Data Spaces. Pilots should bring together scientists, AI developers, public policy experts, decision-makers and end users across countries. Solutions should incorporate place-based governance and socio-economic context, helping authorities adopt accessible, scalable tools for preparedness, response and resilient decision-making beyond the project.
