Summary: Supports integrated economic transformation and stronger internally displaced persons policy and programming in Ethiopia.
Key Information: Proposals must address both objectives and cover all four priority regions under the economic component.
The European Commission’s EU External Action–Prospect call supports sustainable durable solutions for forcibly displaced populations and affected host communities in Ethiopia. It combines economic transformation in conflict- and migration-prone regions with stronger policy, institutions and programming for internally displaced persons (IDPs). Proposals must integrate both objectives rather than present isolated activities.
The economic component uses Market Systems Development (MSD) in Somali, Tigray, Gambella and Benishangul-Gumuz to strengthen inclusive markets, finance, enterprises and employment. It targets refugees, IDPs, returnees and host communities, with particular attention to women, youth, persons with disabilities and other excluded groups. The policy component has nationwide scope, supporting government-led coordination, evidence and data systems, local capacity, rights protection and sustainable financing for durable solutions.
