Summary: Supports health-economics, health systems and outcomes research to improve equitable access to effective, cost-effective cancer control.
Key Information: Requires a consortium of at least three independent beneficiaries in three different EU Member States or Associated Countries, including one EU Member State.
This European Commission topic supports Research and Innovation Actions under Horizon Europe’s EU Cancer Mission. It funds methods and models for comparative cost-effectiveness and epidemiological analyses that connect cancer-control expenditure with equitable outcomes and value-driven care. The intended beneficiaries are people at risk of cancer, people living with and beyond cancer, and their caregivers and families.
Projects should address socioeconomic inequalities, demographic and cultural trends, organisational change and behavioural change through participatory research. They should calculate expenditure against population needs and local resources, and demonstrate improvements in access to and organisation of evidence-based cancer control in clinical, home or community settings. Expected results include better access to healthcare-spending data for research and commercial purposes, and evidence helping health systems and policymakers address direct and indirect costs while improving survival and quality of life.
