Summary: Supports pilots integrating trustworthy, multilingual AI infrastructure for pan-European public-interest news and audiovisual media platforms.
Key Information: Requires at least three independent beneficiaries across three countries, including one EU Member State and two other Member States or Associated Countries.
The European Commission’s Horizon Europe Innovation Action supports modular, trustworthy and interoperable AI-enabled infrastructure for pan-European public-interest media platforms. It funds integration and validation of reusable components that translate, process and distribute real-time news from professional media outlets across the EU and associated countries. Work can include linguistic analysis, audiovisual processing, multimodal workflows and testing immersive, personalised or interactive media experiences for different age groups.
The goal is broader multilingual access, including low-resource European languages, alongside stronger media pluralism and resilience. Projects should build on relevant existing pilots and European research results, advancing towards operational validation in real-world conditions. Priorities include content provenance, attribution, transparent AI practices, accountable governance, accessibility and sustainable operation beyond the grant, preparing for wider scale-up from 2028 onward.
