    Description

The European Commission funds this Innovation Action through the Euratom Research and Training Programme and the co-programmed European Partnership on Fusion Energy. It supports innovative components and integrated systems for future fusion power plants, targeting technology readiness levels (TRLs) 6–8. Projects should test technologies in close-to-real-life conditions and demonstrate fusion-grade performance.

The topic promotes close cooperation between public research and private companies, including start-ups, SMEs, and industry. Projects should address technological bottlenecks, demonstrate measurable performance improvements, and present credible business cases for commercialisation within fusion and, where relevant, other sectors. The intended outcomes include stronger competitiveness and growth for EU fusion companies, progress towards commercial fusion energy, and greater EU energy security and independence.
